The Call of the Coast Guard

As program director for a very large camp, I am responsible for not only camper safety, but also the safety of my staff. So, a week ago, i had to call out the local coast guard for the lake to come and rescue some of my staff who were with campers in a canoe that had drifted too far out into the lake. I'll admit that it caused some major stress, and i have had a major crohn's attack because of it this last week, but i am now feeling better. The people who were involved with last weeks water rescue and such have all been invited on to the bigger of the two coast guard boats to tour it tomorrow!
In other news, my birthday on the 10th was good. there was close to 25 people at my favourite restaurant for dinner and they got the restaurant to sing for me and then at camp they embarrased me greatly while i was leading our evening meeting.
This weekend my parents are taking my sister and I out to a very nice hotel in winnipeg and out to do some shopping.....i am not going to complain about this at all....i get to sleep in luxury and in a proper bed too!
